Why Bees?

Healing ointments and beauty recipes using bee products have been found etched into clay tablets dating back to the ancient Sumerians in 2000 BC, the Egyptians, and even the Ming Dynasty. Historic beauties we have idolized routinely used bee products in their skincare rituals. Cleopatra reportedly bathed in milk and honey, while women in Ming Dynasty China used these gems to treat blemishes.

We at Morgan Esme love everything bee-related, but the stand-out star for us is called Propolis. Adding this to the mix has demonstrated truly transformative results.

Propolis is used to combat inflammation and aid in wound healing due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The multitude of goodies Propolis houses, such as amino and phenolic acids, phenolic acid esters, cinnamic acid, terpenoids, flavonoids, and many others give it a unique ability to prevent collagen and lipid degradation, subsequently speeding up wound closure time and slowing the effects of aging. These properties, along with offering serious moisture for our skin while protecting the moisture barrier and without clogging pores, make it a huge ally in fighting everything from acne to wrinkles and providing benefits for both young and mature skin.
